It is evident
that healthier communities lead to healthier and more
productive nations. While many western nations have made
progress in eliminating some of the preventable
diseases, Kenya still lags behind in many areas
especially in combating exotic diseases like Kwarshiokor,
Marasmus, Cholera, Malaria and Polio. The problem is not
lack of funding but knowledge of basic preventive
measures and inability of the leaders in directing
resources to where they matter most. Our goal is to
empower the Kenyan population especially in rural areas
with limited numbers of Hospitals to cater for the
enormous needs. We envision setting up of local clinics
to cater for the lack thereof. Such clinics can provide
preventive screening while providing adequate prenatal
services at low or no cost.
Kenyans for
Change will work through the "Health care Professionals
for Change" to reform our health care sector so
that Kenyans can have access to affordable and quality
health care. "Health care Professionals for Change"
consists of Kenyans and foreign health
professionals teaming up to do more research and find
ways of reducing health care costs and increasing
accessibility.
